India is favourably considering Australia's keen interest to be part of the next edition of the Malabar naval exercise which is scheduled to be held later this year, people familiar with the development have said. If India decides to include Australia in the exercise, then it will comprise all members of the "Quad" or quadrilateral coalition which was set up with an aim to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and check China's increasing efforts to expand military influence in the region.

प्रशांत क्षेत्र के साथ-साथ हिंद महासागर में परेशानी का सबब बने चीन को रोकने के लिए चार बड़ी शक्तियां पहली बार मालाबार में साथ आने को तैयार हैं। इस साल के मालाबार नौसैनिक युद्धाभ्यास के लिए ऑस्ट्रेलिया को जल्द ही भारत का न्योता मिल सकता है। इसके साथ ही पहली बार अनौपचारिक रूप से बने क्वॉड ग्रुप को सैन्य मंच पर देखा जाएगा। इसमें भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साथ जापान और अमेरिका शामिल हैं। अभी तक भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को इससे अलग रखा था लेकिन लद्दाख में सीमा पर चीन की हरकत को देखते हुए उसे भी बुलाने का प्लान है।
