China's military encroached into waters off Sabah and Sarawak in the South China Sea 89 times between 2016 and 2019, according to the third series of the Auditor-General's Report 2018.

Of the 89 times, the China Coast Guard entered Malaysian waters 72 times while the remaining were by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy.
