A trio of women are rescued by a helicopter after getting lost on a mountain in Los Angeles. The incident happened when Carly Rivera, Brooke Legaux, and another unnamed woman went hiking on Mount Baldy, a peak in the San Gabriel Mountains, lying between Los Angeles Basin and the Mojave Desert, in Los Angeles County, California on 9th July. The women were trying to find a shorter way to go down from the top when they got lost and were stuck without water. They called the emergency telephone number 911 and after giving their coordinates, the LASD Air Rescue 5 crew could find them easily, as the women stayed in one place. Carly told local news outlet KTLA: “These amazing guys from Air 5 came and found us, and when we saw the helicopter, it was such a relief. It was hope in a hopeless situation.” According to KTLA, Deputy Sheriff Garrick Twedt from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department rescue team said the rescue team found the women at an altitude of about 9,100 feet, standing on a slope. By sending a rescue team, they were able to hoist the girls up to safety in the helicopter and fly them to lower ground. Carly Rivera and Brooke Legaux bought a cake in order to express their gratitude towards LASD Air Rescue 5 crew on Sunday 9th August.
