코로나 신규 확진 54명…결혼식장•장례식장 방역관리 강화

For the first time in 17 days,... South Korea reported more than fifty new Covid-19 cases today.
The government is beefing up coronavirus prevention measures at crowded places - starting next week, QR code-based registration will be made mandatory at buffet restaurants and wedding halls across the country.

The South Korean government has made some changes to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines as we approach the fall, when more people will be getting married.
"Starting from next Wednesday at 6 PM, buffet restaurants at wedding venues will be classified as COVID-19 high-risk facilities."
This means guests are required to follow virus prevention guidelines like registering in the visitors' log...either on paper or by scanning the venue's QR code with their smartphone.
Anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms such as coughing or a fever will be denied entry.
People should wear face masks when lining up at the buffet table,... and use plastic gloves when serving themselves.
If guidelines are not followed properly, the owner or the visitor could be fined up to 25-hundred U.S. dollars... and worst-case scenario, the business could be temporarily shut down.
The government has also made some changes to funerals.
The person in charge of the funeral venue must explain to the family of the deceased about the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Visitors should wear face masks, keep a distance from others, and try to bow instead of shaking hands.
"We advised funeral homes to deny entry to those not wearing face masks. Also, we have instructed to use a QR code system as well as thermal imaging cameras to take people's temperatures."
South Korea on Wednesday reported 54 new cases of COVID-19 35 local and 19 imported.
Most of the local cases are from the Seoul Capital Area while others are from Busan.
The total number of confirmed cases is at 14-thousand-714.
With no additional fatalities, the death toll stands at three-hundred-five.
