Eskom is implementing stage 2 load-shedding from 8 this morning until 10 this evening. The power utility says there is a possibility that this could escalate to stage 3 in the evening. The power cuts is the result of an increase in plant breakdowns during the night and early hours of the morning. Eskom is urging South Africans to reduce electricity consumption. And says constraints to the system may persist for the rest of the week.
