RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that Swadeshi does not mean the exclusion of every foreign item. Only those technologies or materials which are traditionally lacking in the country or which are not available locally, can be imported. He said that economic policy has not been made about independence, but now it has started.

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ (RSS) के सरसंघचालक मोहन भागवत ने कहा कि स्‍वदेशी का मतलब हर विदेशी सामान का बहिष्‍कार नहीं है. केवल उन्हीं प्रौद्योगिकियों या सामग्रियों का आयात किया जा सकता है, जिनका देश में पारंपरिक रूप से अभाव है या जो स्थानीय रूप से उपलब्ध नहीं हैं. उन्होंने कहा कि आजादी के इसको लेकर आर्थिक नीति बनी ही नहीं, लेकिन अब शुरू हो गया है.
