The Mount Sinabung volcano in Indonesia erupted again today (August 13) sparking flight warnings and fears of lava flows.

Clouds of ash stretching up to two miles high could be seen from surrounding villages in North Sumatra. It is the eight time in less than a week that the highly volatile volcano has erupted.

Roads and buildings have been covered in ash fall but so far there have been no casualties reported. The last time that somebody was killed by the volcano was in 2014.

National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Raditya Jati said: "There is potential for more eruptions and airlines are asked to be on alert.''
