One Malaysian killed in Indonesia earthquake; others seek temporary shelter

A 30-year-old Malaysian identified as Siti Nur Ismawida was killed in the earthquake that hit Nusa Tenggara Barat and Lombok on Sunday.

Malaysia's Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia Zamshari Shaharan said that the Embassy is trying to get detailed information on the incident. There are 150 Malaysian students on Lombok and all are said to be safe. A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the popular tourist destination of Lombok killing 10 people and damaging many buildings.


Meanwhile, a Malaysian survivor of the quake, Suriyanita Sidek, uploaded a video on her Facebook showing the temporary evacuation campsite for the villagers and survivors at Senaru Village.
