The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) will not pursue any criminal charges in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct against a politician.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Solicitor General Datuk Engku Nor Faizah Engku Atek said after reviewing all the statements submitted by the police, the AGC discovered that there were contradiction of material facts that could not support any prosecution under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty or any other sections under the same code.
Although no names were mentioned, it is believed that the Solicitor General is referring to the case involving Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, who accused PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sexual assault.
