미 국방장관 "완전하고 검증가능한 북한 비핵화 지속 추진"

Its talks with North Korea have stalled, but the United States is saying it continues to pursue the regime's complete and verifiable denuclearization.
According to Reuters, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper was speaking Wednesday at an event in Hawaii... where he said the U.S. military has a responsibility to maintain a state of readiness against North Korea.
He was also quoted as saying that diplomacy is the way to go in resolving the standoff with Pyeongyang.
Esper's remarks come amid speculation that Washington may be looking at holding talks with Pyeongyang before the presidential election in November.
