INGREDIENTS
Coconut- 1 cup
Jaggery- 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Salt- ¼ tsp
Ghee – 2 tsp
Rice flour -1 CUP
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUFFING
Firstly, heats a pan add 1 cup jaggery.
Add coconut and dry fruits and mix well.
Keep cooking on medium flame until the jaggery melts.
Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and still remains moist.
Stuffing is ready. Keep aside
DOUGH
Firstly, in large Kadai take cup water, ¼ tsp salt and 2 tsp ghee mix well.
Get the water to a boil then add rice flour and mix gently.
Mix it until the rice flour absorbs all the water.
Cover and rest for 5 minutes now transfer to a bowl.
Now knead the dough until the dough turns soft.
Wet your hand to prevent from burning.
modak dough is ready.
SHAPE MODAK WITH MOULD
Grease the mould with ghee to prevent from sticking.
Stuff the rice flour dough into the mould walls.
Fill the stuffing in the centre and cover it with rice flour dough.
Remove all the excess mixture and unmould the modak gently without breaking.
STEAM MODAK:
Place the modak in steamer.
Cover and steam it for 10 minutes or till the shiny texture appears on them.
Finally, Rice modak is ready to offer Lord Ganesha
