One of the only reassuring aspects of COVID-19 has been that, so far, it has been rare for children to get infected and if they do, recovery is fairly easy. Some reports from Mumbai and Delhi hospitals are showing that children who have recovered from COVID-19, and some who have tested negative for the virus, are showing some symptoms of a rare inflammatory illness called Kawasaki Disease (KD). The World Health Organisation is calling it Multisystem Inflammatory Disorder.

दुनिया भर में कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण के मामलों में कमी आती नहीं दिख रही है. इस बीच अब बच्‍चों में भी कोरोना वायरस संक्रमण से संबंधित एक जानलेवा सिंड्रोम यानी लक्षण देखने को मिल रहा है. कोरोना वायरस की अभी तक जितनी भी रिपोर्ट आई हैं उसमें बच्चों के संक्रमित होनी की संख्या बहुत कम है. जो भी मामले सामने आए हैं, उसमें बच्चों में कोरोना के कोई लक्षण नहीं या बहुत हल्के लक्षण देखे गए हैं. लेकिन अब इटली, स्पेन, ब्रिटेन और अमेरिका के कुछ बच्चों में कोरोना से संबंधित एक नए सिंड्रोम दिखने की भी बात सामने आ चुकी है. इस घातक लक्षण को मल्टी सिस्टम इंफ्लेमेटरी सिंड्रोम यानी MIS-C का नाम दिया गया है.
