아스트라제네카, 코로나19백신 임상3상 중단…"심각질환 발견"

UK drugmaker AstraZeneca has paused all clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine after one person suffered a suspected serious adverse reaction.
In a statement Tuesday,... the company voluntarily put the late-stage trial on hold to review the related data, but added it was working to ensure there wouldn't be a significant delay.
The vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University researchers had been on track to become one of the first to deliver results from a large trial.
Despite the urgency to contain the pandemic, nine leading vaccine developers in the U.S. and Europe have pledged to uphold safety standards for their vaccine candidates.
