"문대통령-日스가, 내일 첫 전화회담 조율 중"
President Moon Jae-in and Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga are expected to have their first official phone call on Thursday.
That's according to Japan's Fuji News Network.
It added that Prime Minister Suga is expected to request South Korea's cooperation in resolving the North Korean abduction issue in Japan.
During a recent exchange of letters between the two leaders, Prime Minister Suga said that he hopes the two countries can form a "future-oriented bilateral relationship", while President Moon called Japan the "closest friend"...adding that South Korea is willing to sit down for talks at any time.
The last time the leaders of South Korea and Japan engaged in official dialogue was at the trilateral summit between Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo which took place in China last December.
