수해 복구 작업 '산더미'... "추석 연휴 반갑지 않아요"

This summer's unusually long monsoon season might have passed, but just days ahead of Chuseok, rural regions are still reeling from its impact.
Our Han Seong-woo reports on the widespread flood damage that is still plaguing Gyeonggi-do Province.
Chuseok, is now only a few days away.
But it won't be a happy occasion for those living in the rural southern parts of Gyeonggi-do Province that haven't fully recovered from this summer's monsoon and the typhoons that followed.
"Chuseok?... I mean... Just look at the current situation. Who would come for the holidays to a place like this?"
The floodwaters might have gone down some time ago, but the damage is still widespread...
from broken roads to fallen trees.
Those in the agricultural sector have been hit the hardest.
Rice paddies and crop fields have been left devastated by torrential rain.
"It takes six years for a harvest. I'm going to have to plant six years-worth of crops all over again."
Government aid packages have been distributed to affected residents, but many say they're not enough to cover all the costs including house repair.
