The country continues to rage against the alleged gang-rape and death of a 19-year-old Dalit girl in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district. And amid calls for harsher punishment to the perpetrators and more safety for women in the country, the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) shows that the number of rape incidents has, in fact, risen after the gang rape and murder of Nirbhaya, which shook the nation in 2012. After analysis of the state-wise rape cases, it has been found that Rajasthan tops the list.
