Supreme Court is hearing a PIL seeking CBI probe into the Hathras alleged gangrape case. The plea is being heard by a Supreme Court bench led by CJI SA Bobde. The UP government has sought CBI probe into the case citing vested interests trying to muzzle fair probe. The Yogi govt has defended the hurried cremation of Hathras victim in the Supreme Court. It said the decision made to avoid large-scale violence in the state.
