Dr Kannan, a 24-year-old postgraduate doctor in Chennai’s Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, died by suicide in the early hours of Monday. According to reports, he was on duty till around 1.30 am on Monday. A few hours later, he was found lying on the ground with multiple fractures outside his hostel. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead Though the reason behind his death is still unknown, it is speculated by some of his WhatsApp group members that he took the drastic step due to excessive workload as he was working in the COVID facility.

A third-year medical student of Madurai Medical College was found dead in his hostel room by his friends. The incident was reported in the wee hours of Friday when his friends entered his room only to find his body lying in the room. A police complaint has been registered, and the matter is currently under investigation for death under suspicious circumstances. A post mortem has already been conducted.

A 24-year-old man, Sharath Prabhu, from Tirupur district, who was pursuing MD in General Medicine at the University College of Medical Sciences affiliated to the Delhi University, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of a private accommodation in the national capital on Wednesday morning. A syringe was found lying next to him, the police said.
ast year, Dr. Saravanan, a medico hailing from the same district, who was pursuing postgraduate studies in AIIMS was found dead in his room under similar circumstances and the Delhi police claimed that he had self-administered a lethal injection.
