People in large numbers gathered to celebrate Banni festival in Devaragattu village of Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, despite the imposition of Section 144 in the area yesterday. At least 50 persons were injured during the festival. Despite prohibitory orders, thousands gathered for annual 'stick fight' in Andhra Pradesh. The annual ‘devaragattu’ stick fighting festival, known as ‘Banni Utsavam’, took place in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.
