Cyclone Fani tore through Odisha as it is was one of the worst storms to hit India since 1999. Several lives were lost and millions were left homeless. The storm has severely impacted the state’s energy infrastructure leaving around 35 lakh homes without electricity for days after the cyclone. Nasa has released data visualizations of places where the lights went out across some of the affected areas in Odisha. NASA images show city lighting on April 30 and May 5 two days after the cyclone made landfall.
