International Day of Yoga celebrates the traditional practice and aims at spreading awareness about the importance and positive impact of performing yoga. history of International Day of Yoga dates back to June 21, 2015, at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in his UN address suggested that June 21, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere must be celebrated as International Day of Yoga. Theme for this year is “Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family”. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, sixth edition of International Yoga Day will be observed at home. Launching a video blogging competition, PM Modi invited citizens to participate in it and post their videos. 'My Life, My Yoga' contest is a joint effort by the Ministry of AYUSH and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
