Former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor Lt General (retired) Zameer Uddin Shah has said that Muslims should hand over the disputed land at Ayodhya to Hindus for the sake of lasting peace in the country. In an interactive session organised by the Indian Muslims for Peace, Shah said, “Supreme Court should give clear verdict, it should not be ‘panchayati’ at all. Even if Supreme Court gives judgment in favour of Muslims, will it be possible to build mosque there? It's impossible.” He further said, “In case judgment is in favour of Muslims, for lasting peace in country, Muslims should hand over the land to Hindu brothers. There has to be a solution otherwise we will go on fighting. I strongly support out-of-court settlement.”
