U.S. drugmaker Moderna says it expects to have 100 million to 125 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine available in the first quarter of next year.
But Pfizer has halved its rollout target for this year, due to challenges in the supply-chain.

Moderna says it expects to have 100 million to 125 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine available across the globe in the first quarter of 2021.
According to Reuters, the company said on Thursday that 85 million to 100 million of doses would be available in the U.S., and 15 million to 25 million would be sent to other countries around the world.
The vaccine requires two doses given one month apart.
But another U.S. drugmaker Pfizer has cut in half its production target for vaccine doses for this year.
Pfizer had originally planned to ship 100 million vaccine doses this year, but the company now says it anticipates producing just 50 million.
This is due to challenges in supply chain for the raw materials used in its vaccine.
The company said the scale-up of the raw material supply chain took longer than originally anticipated, and later-than-expected results from its clinical trial caused the company to lower its target.
But the company said its full scale production lines in the U.S. and Europe are complete, and it's confident it'll be able to supply the targeted doses.
The company is expected to roll out 1-point-3 billion doses in 2021.
Its vaccine requires two doses given three weeks apart.
