Somavati Amavasya is considered to be of special importance in Hinduism. The Amavasya that falls on Monday is known as Somavati Amavasya. There are two to three Somavati Amavasya throughout the year. The last date of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month i.e. Amavasya is falling on December 14, Monday. Donation and bathing are considered very important on this day.
