The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the post-matric scholarship scheme of Rs 59 thousand crore. This scheme will benefit 40 million SC students in five years. This information was given by Union Minister Thawarchand Gehlot in a press conference organized after the meeting of the Union Cabinet. Gehlot said that the central government will spend Rs 35,534 crore in it and the rest of the amount will be borne by the state governments.

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने बुधवार को 59 हजार करोड़ रुपये की पोस्ट मैट्रिक स्कॉलरशिप योजना को अनुमति दे दी। इस योजना से पांच साल में चार करोड़ एससी छात्र-छात्राओं को फायदा पहुंचेगा. ये जानकारी केंद्रीय कैबिनेट की बैठक के बाद आयोजित की गई प्रेस वार्ता में केंद्रीय मंत्री थावरचंद गहलोत ने दी. गहलोत ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार इसमें 35,534 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करेगी और बाकी की राशि राज्य सरकारें वहन करेंगी.
