“Sex Drugs & HIV” is a unique album,15 years in the making, over 200 name musicians, 40 original songs, for charity to raise awareness and funds for ‘Terrence Higgins Trust’, ‘Rape Crisis’, ‘Release’ and ‘Cancer Research’ masterminded by Mat Sargent (former Chelsea and Sham 69 member).

The first recording session was on 6th November 1995 and after 15 years, many recording sessions and 215 musicians later the album was finished and eventually released in 2014 as the special edition 3 disc version (2xCD + DVD) and then repressed and re-released on 2nd November 2015 as the 2CD version (with 20 songs on each CD).

Two ex-Banshees guitarists, John McKay and John McGeoch, are featured on the first CD and more precisely on track #8 titled “Spinning in Circles” late John McGeoch on guitar w/ Gina Birch (of The Raincoats) on vocals and on track #18 titled “Rich Girls” John McKay on guitar w/ Andy Ellison (frontman in John's Children, Jet and Radio Stars) on vocals plus contributions of Captain Sensible and Warwick "Wally" Nightingale.

A new box-set of 8 DVDs, titled ‘The Studio Sessions’, was released on 1st December 2020 which is the World AIDS day. The duration for the complete set is just under 28 hours. There are 29 episodes in total, each episode has 2 songs and each song roughly has a 25 minute fly on the wall documentary. The videos show the musicians arriving at the studio, hanging out, exchanging stories with other musicians and recording their parts. At the end of each film there are out-takes and extras. A couple of the episodes feature just one track. Disc #8 contains all the song videos, and also extra tracks that were recorded but not used on the album.
