An outbreak of the highly contagious avian flu, an Influenza Type A virus has been reported in multiple states across India. The virus affects poultry birds such as chicken, duck and geese but is also known to transfer to other fowl. Two districts in Kerala have confirmed cases and the administration will undertake culling of poultry. States of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are also investigating possible cases of the Bird flu.
