SECURITY COORDINATION MEETING HELD AT SSU HEADQUARTERS FOR SOUTH AFRICAN CRICKET TEAM’S TOUR TO PAKISTAN
Karachi: A meeting held under the chair of DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed at Special Security Unit (SSU) Headquarters in wake of security arrangements to be made during the test match to be played between Pakistan and South Africa at National Stadium, Karachi.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of Police including Commandant SSU Dr. Farrukh Ali, Army Officers and PCB Officials along with all stakeholders.
About 5000 Personnel of Karachi Police including 2000 personnel of Security Division and 1080 SSU Commandos will perform security duties along-with personnel from other law enforcement agencies at National Stadium Karachi, Karachi Airport, routes, hotels, venues of practice and other different areas.
In addition, sharp shooters will be deployed at sensitive points along with air-surveillance to beef-up security measures.
DIG Security and Emergency Services Division instructed to ensure proper liaison between all the stake holders during the visit of the South African cricket team for peaceful conduct of the event.
Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team comprising highly trained and well equipped Commandos will remain alert at SSU Headquarters as quick response force to challenge any emergency situation.
