After being impeached for the second time, but with time running out to remove Trump from office, what punishments and legal issues does Trump face after leaving the White House? Political science professor and author Corey Brettschneider breaks down why a federal pardon of any kind is unlikely, plus what Trump needs to look out for next, such as being charged for the insurrection itself by the DC attorney general and investigations by the Manhattan DA.

“In my mind, he's gotta be prosecuted for these crimes,” Brettschneider said on “Salon Talks.” It goes back to another Nixon memo that says sitting presidents can't be indicted for crimes. I think that's ridiculous. Those memos were never tried in court, they betray common sense. Of course, he should be indicted right now. In fact, I would like to see DC prosecutors challenge that policy by acting on a mad man who tried to bring about an insurrection and incite a riot.”
