4 lakh 20 thousand square kilometers (12.6%) of the land in India comes in landslides zone. According to a study by Sheffield University of UK, 829 landslides occurred in India between the year 2004 to 2016. During this,10,900 deaths were reported in the country. Experts also say that 200 out of 8000 glacier lakes are on dangerous stage due to rising temperatures on the Himalayas. Watch report.
