Addressing the Lok Sabha on Wednesday on the motion of thanks to the President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the opposition did not stop them from pushing for reforms. Recalling an incident from 40-50 years ago, the PM said, "In the 1960s in Tamil Nadu, a commission was made to increase salaries of state employees. The chairman of that committee received an envelope saying 'Top Secret'." The person who wrote that letter was a government employee on a post made for supplying cigars to Winston Churchill before Independence. The post was still there in the 1960s, the PM said.
