बंगाल में सफाई कर्मचारी पूर्व चेतावनी के बाद 17 फरवरी से अपनी बेमियादी हड़ताल शुरू कर दी। इसके तहत सफाईकर्मियों ने शहर में कहीं भी सड़कों, नालियों और हाईड्रेन आदि यानी शहर की सफाई का कार्य नहीं किया। इसके चलते जगह-जगह कूड़े-कचरे पड़े रहे। इसे लेकर आम लोगों को काफी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा।
