The central government has also come on the backfoot due to rising prices of petrol and diesel. All opposition parties, including the Congress, have attacked the government. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has given clarification on rising oil prices. He said that due to increase in the price of crude oil in international markets, the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing. He said that prices will come down gradually.

पेट्रोल-डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों के कारण केंद्र सरकार भी बैकफुट पर आ गई है। कांग्रेस समेत तमाम विपक्षी पार्टियां सरकार पर हमलावर हो चुकी हैं. कांग्रेस की अंतरिम अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने भी प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को चिट्ठी लिखी है. अब पेट्रोलियम मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने तेल के बढ़ते दामों पर सफाई दी है। उन्होंने कहा कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों में क्रूड ऑयल की कीमत में बढ़ोत्तरी के चलते पेट्रोल-डीजल की कीमतों में तेजी आ रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि कीमतें धीरे-धीरे ही कम होंगी।
