[PLEASE READ] From HOTEL DE PAREE: “Sundance and the Blood Money.” Original airdate: January 1, 1960.

HOTEL DE PAREE (1959-60) aired on American television for one season and 32 half-hour episodes. The show’s basic premise: “Sundance” (Earl Holliman), a reformed gunslinger, helps run the “Hotel de Paree” in Georgetown, Colorado, while resolving local conflicts. His partners in the hotel are tidy, brisk “Annette Deveraux” (Jeanette Nolan) and her plucky, fashionable daughter, “Monique” (Judi Meredith). Local storekeeper “Aaron Donager” (Strother Martin) is a sensible, genial friend to them all. “Sundance” also owns a dog, a terrier mix amusingly named “Useless.” Noted film composer Dimitri Tiomkin wrote the show’s theme music and Maurice Binder (of James Bond film fame) designed the main titles. Show sponsors included Kellogg’s and L&M cigarettes.

In this, the TWELFTH episode of the series, directed by Western specialist Andrew V. McLaglen, two unscrupulous bounty hunters –“Moss Coble” (Russ Conway) and “Cal Eaton” (Ken Becker)—gull the town of Georgetown into unwittingly paying them a bounty on themselves! After a boy is shot in town during their getaway, a merciless Sundance and a conscientious Donager give chase.

I have uploaded this video, in part, to help spark professional interest in restoring HOTEL DE PAREE for digital release in the 21st century.

NOTE: Georgetown, Colorado, USA, is an actual and historic place. To visit a very real and modern local “equivalent” to the fictional “Hotel de Paree,” check out the Hotel Chateau Chamonix:
