The Supreme Court on Friday, during the hearing on the Maratha quota case, said that how many generations of reservation in jobs and education will continue, besides the disparity arising in the event of the Supreme Court removing the maximum limit of 50 percent in the reservation. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the Maharashtra government, told a constitution bench of five judges headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan that the quota limit needs to be reconsidered under the changed circumstances in the Mandal case. .

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को मराठा कोटा मामले पर सुनवाई के दौरान कहा कि आखिर नौकरियों और शिक्षा में कितनी पीढ़ियों तक आरक्षण जारी रहेगा,इसके अलावा सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आरक्षण में 50 प्रतिशत की अधिकतम सीमा को हटाए जाने की स्थिति में पैदा होने वाली असमानता को लेकर भी चिंता जताई है।महाराष्ट्र सरकार की ओर से पेश हुए वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता मुकुल रोहतगी ने न्यायमूर्ति अशोक भूषण की अध्यक्षता वाली पांच न्यायाधीशों की संविधान पीठ से कहा कि कोटा की सीमा तय करने पर मंडल मामले मेंफैसले पर बदली हुई परिस्थितियों में पुनर्विचार करने की जरूरत है.
