About Amasya

Amasya is located in Black Sea Region of Turkey and specifically it is in the middle of the region. Neighbour provinces of Amasya are Samsun, Çorum and Tokat. Amasya is called as “the city of princes” in Turkey. Because most of the sultans used to send their sons to Amasya to be educated in there and to be ready for the country.

Throughout the history, Amasya was a homeland for a lot of valuable and essential civilisations such as Hittite, Persian, Rome, Byzantine or Seljuq empire. The history of the city is very rich and it has an eight hundred years past. During the rule of Ottoman Empire, Amasya welcomed to the prince’s (before they had become sultans), scientists or artists.

Amasya has a magical, green and clean nature as in the whole Black Sea region.
