Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki told reporters that the anti-corruption body had arrested eight people in connection with the so-called “project cartel” that is believed to have been awarded 345 tenders with an estimated value of RM3.6bil from different ministries and agencies nationwide since 2014.
The latest person arrested worked in a government department and had a hand in leaking procurement information to the syndicate.
Azam also said they did not rule out the possibility of making more arrests as their probe progressed.
