India on Thursday registered a record single-day spike of 1,26,789 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the figures released by the health ministry. With this, the nationwide Covid-19 tally of cases touched 1,29,28,574. The country's total active caseload has increased to 9,10,319 and now comprises 7.04 per cent of the country's total infections.

New Zealand has temporarily suspended entry for all travellers from India, including its own citizens, following a high number of positive Covid-19 cases in the country. The suspension starts on April 11 and will be in place until April 28.
