Paolo Mauro, Deputy Director, IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department told reporters at a news conference here on Wednesday, "In the case of India, the debt ratio at the end of 2019, prior to the pandemic, was 74 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and at the end of 2020, it is almost 90 per cent of GDP.

देश में फैली कोरोना महामारी के चलते देश का कर्ज-जीडीपी का अनुपात ऐतिहासिक स्तर पर पहुंच गया है. IMF की ओर से जारी की गई रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, साल 2020 में देश का कर्ज 74 फीसदी था जो कि कोरोना संकट में बढ़कर 90 फीसदी पर पहुंच गया है. साल 2020 में देश का कुल GDP 189 लाख करोड़ रुपये रहा था. वहीं, कर्ज करीब 170 लाख करोड़ रुपये था.
