ye chaal gardish-e-ayyam chal to sakti hai

teri nigah sahaara na de to baat hai aur
ki girte girte bhi duniya sambhal to sakti hai

na bhulna ye hai taKHir husn ki taKHir
'firaq' aai hui maut Tal to sakti hai

بدلتا جائے غم روزگار کا مرکز
یہ چال گردش ایام چل تو سکتی ہے

تری نگاہ سہارا نہ دے تو بات ہے اور
کہ گرتے گرتے بھی دنیا سنبھل تو سکتی ہے

نہ بھولنا یہ ہے تاخیر حسن کی تاخیر
فراقؔ آئی ہوئی موت ٹل تو سکتی ہے
