Chennai Super Kings got off the mark with a 6-wicket win over Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Moeen Ali and Faf du Plessis helped the 3-time champions gun down the paltry target of 107 in 15.4 overs. Earlier, Deepak Chahar's career-best bowling figures of 4 for 13 helped CSK restrict PBKS for 106 for 8 in 20 overs after they won the toss and opted to bowl first.


आइपीएल 2021 के 14वें सीजन का आठवां मुकाबला चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स और पंजाब किंग्स के बीच खेला गया, मुंबई के वानखेड़े स्टेडियम में खेले गए इस मैच में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स के कप्तान एमएस धौनी ने टॉस जीतकर गेंदबाजी चुनी। पंजाब की टीम ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए निर्धारित 20 ओवर में 8 विकेट खोकर 106 रन बनाए। 107 रन के लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए चेन्नई की टीम ने 4 विकेट के नुकसान पर 15.4 ओवर में लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया। फाफ डुप्लेसिस और सैम कुर्रन नाबाद रहे। मोइन अली ने 46 रन बनाए वहीं फाफ ने 36 रन बनाए, इससे पहले दीपक चाहर ने 14 रन देकर 4 विकेट निकाले थे।
