Many Indian hospitals were scrambling for beds and oxygen as Covid-19 infections surged to a new daily record on Saturday. India registered the biggest daily spike of over 2.34 lakh Covid-19 cases on Saturday as several states continue to struggle with a shortage of hospital beds.

The top five states that have registered the maximum cases in the past 24 hours are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka.
