National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is well prepared ahead of Cyclone Tauktae striking the coasts of Gujarat and is expected to reach Gujarat coast by May 18.
Deputy Commandant Ran Vijoy Kumar said, "As per IMD warning, the wind is expected to blow at very high speed. 24 teams would reach the destination in the evening in which 13 teams are arriving from other states. Teams would work in different districts as 2 teams in Valsad of Gujarat, 1 in Navsari, 2 in Surat, 1 in Bharuch, 1 in Bhavnagar, 2 in Amreli, 2 in Somnath, 1 in Junagadh, 2 in Porbandar, 2 in Dwarka, 2 in Jamnagar, 2 in Rajkot, 2 in Morbi and 2 in Kutch." The cyclone is expected to cause heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Gujarat.
