After the Centre stalled the doorstep delivery of rations, which was to begin after a couple of days, the sources have stated that the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) of Delhi, Anil Baijal, cited reasons for this decision. The primary reason was that it required the approval of the central government as per the National Food Security Act, 2013, followed by a writ petition filed by the Delhi Sarkari Ration Dealers Sangh in the Delhi High Court challenging the Delhi government’s scheme.
