Priyanka Chopra is among many A-list celebrities that have come together to ask G-7 countries to donate COVID-19 vaccines to poorer nations. The other celebs that have added their names to the letter are pop-stars Billie Eilish, former England football team captain David Beckham, The Crown star Olivia Colman among others. The letter asks the G7 countries to donate at least 20 per cent of their vaccines to poorer countries.
While lauding this initiative, UNICEF has cautioned that the vaccines collected should be supplied in a fair and equitable manner. The UN agency is campaigning for G7 countries to setup an uninterrupted supply of vaccines throughout the year. Other names that have come forward for this initiative include Hollywood stars such as Liam Payne, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Whoopi Goldberg.
Pee-cee adding her name to the vaccine initiative comes as no surprise as the Bollywood star has been using her various social media accounts to raise funds for the COVID-19 fight in India. She had updated her followers recently about successfully raising Rs 22 crore for the cause.
