'Russia and Britain in WAR of Words Over Alleged Hostile Encounter in Black Sea'

Russia has released footage it said shows the moment two of its warplanes tried to stop a British ship enterring its waters.

The HMS Defender was tailed by a Russian Navy ship near annexed Crimea in Moscow-claimed territorial waters.

Russia said warning shots were fired and bombs dropped from the air to force the destroyer out.

Russian Army Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov said: "The moves by warships of the U.S. and its allies have been clearly provocative.

"This creates preconditions for incidents and doesn't help ease tensions in the military sphere."
