One Opposition MP is questioning how much the liberalisation of the fuel retail sector will benefit rural communities that are serviced by only one gas station.

She says if the Government wants to implement a fuel levy, it should also ensure that there are better roads.

The Energy Minister declared there will be benefits in the proposed new fuel price system, as he spoke of a measure meant to protect the population from excessive fuel prices.
