Suriya's Soorarai Pottru Joins Oscar Race

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed the 366 feature films that are eligible for consideration at the 93rd Oscars. Sudha Kongara's directorial Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya has entered into the Oscar race. The movie loosely based on the biography of Capt Gopinath, founder of the low-cost airline, Air Deccan had Aparna Balamurali playing the female lead with music score by GV Prakash.
Produced by Suriya's home banner 2D Entertainment, Soorarai Pottru has entered the Oscar 2021 race in the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and many other categories. Academy voting will run March 5-10, with nominations to be announced March 15. Sharing the happy news, the production house took to their social networking page to make the announcement.
