The first case of Zika virus infection has been reported in Kerala. The infection has been confirmed in a 24-year-old pregnant woman living in Prasalla near Thiruvananthapuram. Zika virus infection has been found in 13 of the 19 samples sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune for testing. All these samples were sent from Thiruvananthapuram. The condition of the woman who got infected with Zika is stable and she is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. According to the doctors of the hospital, the virus is not fatal, so there is nothing to worry about. The woman was admitted after having fever, headache and spots on her body. Doctors said that all kinds of precautions are being taken. At the same time, similar symptoms have been seen in all 19 people whose samples were sent to NIV.

केरल में जीका वायरस संक्रमण का पहला मामला रिपोर्ट किया गया है. तिरुवनंतपुरम के पास प्रसाल्ला की रहने वाली 24 वर्षीय गर्भवती महिला में संक्रमण की पुष्टि हुई है. पुणे के नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ वायरोलॉजी को जांच के लिए भेजे गए 19 सैंपल्स में से 13 में जीका वायरस संक्रमण मिला है. ये सभी सैंपल्स तिरुवनंतपुरम से भेजे गए थे. जीका से संक्रमित होने वाली महिला की हालत स्थिर है और उसका एक निजी अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है. अस्पताल के डॉक्टरों के मुताबिक वायरस जानलेवा नहीं है, इसलिए चिंता की कोई बात नहीं है. महिला को बुखार, सिरदर्द और शरीर पर स्पॉट पड़ने के बाद भर्ती कराया गया था. डॉक्टरों ने कहा कि सभी तरह की सावधानियां बरती जा रही हैं. वहीं जिन 19 लोगों के सैंपल एनआईवी भेजे गए थे उन सभी में इसी तरह के लक्षण देखे गए हैं.
