Young fast bowler Mohammed Siraj looks set to pip senior pacer Ishant Sharma to feature in India's playing XI for the upcoming five-match Test series against England. Siraj was reportedly in consideration to start ahead of Ishant in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand last month. However, the team went with both R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the XI while placing their trust in the experienced trio of Ishant, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah.
